Recording correct page number for Zotfile annotation extraction

Does anyone know how to ensure the zotefile annotations extracted from PDFs give the right page number and that the first 'title' page that is not from the original article is not counted?? I have goen to Zotefile preference and ticked the 'use actual page numbers' in the advanced settings but still page numbers are out

I was recently looking this up and it doesn't look like there's a solution yet, per this thread.. https://github.com/jlegewie/zotfile/issues/376

You should look at the Zotero beta version which has built-in PDF annotation extraction with better handling of page numbers.

@adamsmith If I install that version, will it get rid of my current annotations or keep everything else as is?

As always you should make sure you have a back-up (https://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#backing_up_your_zotero_data ), but it should keep everything as is, yes.
