Pdf reader won't load heavily annotated pdf

I have a heavily annotated PDF which wreaks havoc in the PDF reader.
To be more precise: the first pages will load, but as soon as I scroll I get a blurred out pages with the loading icon, and the app freezes. Searching through the document is similarly impossible, and will cause the app to freeze.

I suspect it's not an issue of size (the PDF is a book, but just about 600KB), nor length (I have books that load smoothly), so the numerous annotations could be the culprit (but I don't know).
I can't get an error report (I get "No errors have been logged since Zotero started"), but after the app freezes I get this popup window (NB the number at the end changes every time):

"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: resource://zotero/react-dom.js:23311"

I'm running the latest beta (15) on MacOS

Does that PDF file work well if you open it with https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html ?

Additionally, if you are comfortable providing the PDF file (or just a part of it that still breaks the reader) that would help us to reproduce the issue.

@martynas_b yes, it loads with no issues there, and it's searchable

@nerimarsili the performance issues will be fixed in the next beta update.

I forgot to answer here, but I just want to confirm that this issue was resolved in the later version of the beta
