why the zotero can not download this pdf?

Hello here.
the url is https://smartech.gatech.edu/bitstream/handle/1853/5233/dave_devang_b_200405_phd.pdf
it prompted me as 'An error occurred while saving this item. Try again and if the issue persists see Getting Help for more information'.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

[JavaScript Error: "smartech.gatech.edu:443 uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates.
An additional root certificate may need to be imported.
    Their server is misconfigured.

(The page refers to proxy and WebDAV servers, but it's the same problem, and you can see the same result for this site on the SSL Labs test or in a new Firefox profile. They're not bundling the "InCommon ECC Server CA" intermediate certificate.)
  • @dstillman Many thanks. Are there something we can do as users?
  • If it's your university, you should contact the IT department and point them to this thread, and ask them to fix their server.

If not, and you just want to download the file, you can download it in your browser and drag it into Zotero. (As explained on that page, Chrome will perform the extra certificate download to handle this. Firefox won't, but it may already have the intermediate certificate cached from other sites that bundle it, so the file may load there, as it does for me, even though it fails in a new Firefox profile.)
  • Got it, thanks
