Cannot load library file. I have deleted and re-installed Zotero, including profile and preferences. I have tried various versions of files from Time Machine. All fail to open or import.

Just few days ago I was able to open re-installation of Zotero and import the very same file that now will not open.

Steps:
Open Zotero
Opens a new, empty library
Try to import from current and earlier Time machine files
Get message: "An error occurred while trying to import the selected file. Please ensure that the file is valid and try again."

Have also tried:
Double-click on library file with Zotero closed
Result is no action or message

I'm quite desperate as I converted sometime ago from Bookends.
