Where are Preferences?

I've installed a Zotero standalone 5.0.58 and I can't reach Preferences. There is no botton. On Edit there is not the option preferences. What can i do? I use an Ubuntu 18.04. Thanks.
  • How did you install Zotero exactly? And I assume you mean version 5.0.85, right?
  • I think it was from Ubuntu software. Yes, it's version 8.0.85.

Again, you mean 5.0.85, yes? Not 5.0.58, not 8.0.85? Can you provide a Report ID?

What exactly do you see in the Edit menu?
  • here is the report ID (it is partially in galician):
Non se rexistraron erros dende que Zotero se iniciou. (no tropubles since Zotero was installed)

    version => 5.0.85, platform => Linux x86_64, oscpu => Linux x86_64, locale => gl-ES, appName => Zotero, appVersion => 5.0.85, extensions => Zotero LibreOffice Integration (5.0.22.SA.5.0.85, extension)

Zotero works well. My problem is that I want to change the folder location and I must go to Preferences to do it, but I don't know how to reach it. In edict menu I see: Undo, Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Select all, Find and Advanced search (this last in galician),
  • tropubles=troubles.
After that Advansed search is where Preferences should be, I think. But it is not.
  • Ah, sorry about that. We recently fixed an issue in the Galego locale that prevented some items in Edit from appearing, but it looks like we missed some and Preferences still wasn't appearing.

This should be fixed in the latest Zotero beta, and the fix will be included in Zotero 5.0.86.
  • Zotero 5.0.86 is available now with this fix.
  • Ok, I can see the new version is available, even the 5.0.87. Thank you. But I'm still in troubles... I'm sorry. I see the new versions to download. I've tried to install it trough the terminal (I'm using Ubuntu 20.04), and the message is that Zotero is yet installed and that I have the most recent version (5.0.85): I've tried to install it with Synaptic too: same answer. There aren't the new versions in the Ubuntu repositories or what else? Thank you for your attention and excuse my English.
  • Another thing. I've found a Zotero 5.0.87 version in Ubuntu software and I can install it, but it is presented as Zotero-snap, And it adds it's an "unofficial snap for Zotero standalone". Is this version yours or is it a "pirate" version? Could I trust this version? I've installed it and I have now two versions. The new one hasn't installed over the first one, as expected.
  • For Linux, there's an official Zotero tarball:
    https://www.zotero.org/support/installation

    There are also third-party packages:

    For Ubuntu, see here:

  • Done!! Thank you very much.
