Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Zotero is open and try again.

Hi everyone,

I just installed Zotero, but I whenever I try using Zotero in word I get the "Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Zotero is open and try again." message. I checked that both my Zotero and word add-ons are enabled. I've also restarted my computer. I'm not sure how to fix this. My Report ID is 1063783310.

What version of Word?

Have you used Zotero previously on this computer?

My Word is Version 16.33 (20011301) and I have not previously used Zotero before.

Does it work if you restart you computer? If not, could you produce a startup Debug ID from Zotero?

@ckwok2021 A fix is now available in the Zotero Beta.

This is now fixed in Zotero 5.0.83, available now via Help → Check for Updates. If you switched to the beta for this fix, you can switch back to the main release now.
