Web Library on own server
I know nothing about Java Script, but I'm going to start learning soon. I would just like to install the Zotero Web Library on my server. Can anyone explain to me how to do it step by step (for dummies)? This 5-point manual (https://github.com/zotero/web-library/#installation), except point 1, tells me nothing. What's the matter with this "npm"? I read that it is related to node.js. So I need to install this node.js on the server? I guess an ordinary web host is not enough for this?
But also, the web-library is currently under active development and I'm pretty sure the install instructions don't work with the current code.
What's your goal, though? You don't need the web library to get pretty nice representations for your Zotero library online, e.g. via ZotPress on Wordpress.
OK, my goal:
I have many ideas to create webpages. All of them need advanced search system exactly like in Zotero Standalone. Zotero Web Library search system isn't such good as Standalones, but in the future it'll change: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/76799/smart-tag-cloud-in-web-library#latest
Actually, in every my webpages ideas I need my own Zotero Web Library, but with these features:
ADVANCED TAG SELECTOR
-----------------------
1. "smart tags cloud" exactly like in Zotero Standalone (https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/76799/smart-tag-cloud-in-web-library#latest )
2. hierarchical tags (https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/79/hierarchical-tags#latest Look my post there from 10.04.2019.)
3. quick tags propositions like in Koha, eg. https://catalog.bywatersolutions.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=30666 look at link: "Log in to add tags"
4. pretty alphabetic tags list, eg. https://wordpress.org/plugins/multi-column-tag-map/
5. tag labels ("tagging tags"), eg. I want see only tags with "A" label
THUMBNAILS
-----------
eg. based on Youtube model: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/76800/thumbnails#latest
Add to that css customization.
As for ZotPress, can you send me link to a demo page? I haven't found it in web.
