Zotero set-up on new computer. Error "The attached file could not be found."

I am trying to set up zotero on a new computer, and I did the full text syncing option on both computer A and computer B. All full text files can be found on zotero.org, but only a portion of the full text files can be found on computer B.

For entries without full text, zotero gives an error that says "The attached file could not be found. It may have been moved or deleted outside of Zotero."

When I try to locate the file, the folder contains a .zotero-ft-cache file instead of .pdf that is usually saved. How should I resolve this issue?
  • First, note that "full text" sync and "file sync" are not the same thing. If you just sync full text, that would sync the index so that you can search the text of all attachments on both computers, but not necessarily open the file (this is incidentally what the ft-cache file you're seeing is for).
