Standalone zotero window goes black

Very frequently, when I have a number of windows open (windows 7), my zotero standalone goes black and then reappears as I run the cursor over the page -- wherever I move the cursor. Closing and reopening zotero also "brings it back." What could be causing this problem? Many thanks!

Just to repeat some info from another thread, updating the graphics driver fixed this for someone who was experiencing this.
