Re-installing Zotero

If I delete Zotero from my computer to try to fix a problem, will I lose all the files I have saved? Or do they get stored in my online account and will come back when I re-install the program?

    don't re-install. It's not going to fix anything (generally re-installing very rarely does).

    But for your question, a typical de-install will not remove Zotero data from your computer and it will pick right up where you left. If you actually wipe Zotero from your computer, your data is stored online if (and that's an important if) you have synced successfully with your Zotero account. You'll want to verify both that you can see your library when clicking on My Library on this page and by checking that you don't have any sync errors (which would show as a red exclamation mark next to the green round sync arrow).

    But again -- re-installing Zotero is very rarely a helpful troubleshooting step, most of the time a waste of time and resource and some of the time can make things worse, so I'd discourage it.
