Zotero 4.0 doesn't update

For the third day after Zotero 5.0 was released, I asked Zotero 4.0.29 to look for an update and it says there is none. Zotero is installed on Windows 10 without admin privileges, behind a corporate firewall, but I am able to sync my library. Is this just a matter of waiting a little longer?

Yes, but you don't have to. From the announcement:

If you’re already using Zotero Standalone 4.0, you’ll be offered the choice to upgrade within the next few weeks, or you can download Zotero 5.0 now and install it over your existing version. Your database will be automatically upgraded to work with the new version.

@dstillman, would it be easy (and desirable) to offer Zotero 5.0 to users of Zotero Standalone 4.0 who manually check for updates via "Check for Updates..."?

Yeah, looks like we can do that easily. We have to test the 4.0->5.0 in-app update, and then we can enable that.

OK, the 5.0 update is now available via "Check for Updates…" in 4.0.

@dstillman, I just did the "Check for Updates..." in Zotero Standalone 4.0.29.15, and while I'm offered 5.0.6, clicking the hyperlinked "View more information about this update" in the first screen doesn't do anything for me. macOS 10.12.6.

P.S. Doesn't seem like a new issue. From 2015: 'The window that pops up has a link to "View more information about this update." It doesn't work for me.'

The more-info link was broken in 4.0. Works in 5.0.

Next comment: I had Firefox open, so I got the following warning when I started the upgrade to 5.0: http://i.imgur.com/a1WBdOr.png

The label "Check for Update" is a bit odd. "Retry" would be more logical.
