Collection inheritance

Does a parent collection inherit the citations of its subgroups? So if I have a master collection on say, "Civic" and a subgroup "Communication" will cites I add to "communication" be inherited upward into the master? Thanks.

By default it doesn't, but there's an option ("recursiveCollections") that you can toggle in the hidden preferences:
