Getting publications on board

I like using the NYTimes/Zotero icon in the address window when I'm reading an article that I want to add to my bibliography. How wonderful it would be if more online news sources, museums, booksellers, and whateverelse...would incorporate whatever is required to make their web material Zotero-friendly. Is achieving the result a difficult task? If I wanted to request a web publisher, Salon for example, to incorporate the "add to Zotero" icon, what exactly would I say? To whom might I refer them? Would I be asking a lot or would be asking them to tack on something reasonable simple?

I believe that the Zotero devs built the NYT translator for Zotero, so it might not be the best example. However, encouraging others to embed standard metadata into their webpages is definitely a good idea.
