Citing Institutions and their abbreviations

Hi folks,

im browsing the forum for quite a while, but cant find the solution to my problem.
I want to cite an institution (UN e.g.): in text it should be displayed as (UN, 20xx). But in the bibliography i want it to be United Nations (UN), 20xx: Helping the poor xy et cetera. So my problem is every time the full name of UN is displayed instead of an abbreviation (after the first citation).

Anyone an idea?

Thanks
nw

P.S.: Im using APA.
  • The Abbreviation Filter can be used for this, but only when used with Juris-M (a variant of Zotero). If you're interested in exploring that, post back and I can answer any questions.
  • Some other solutions here if you only have a few if this type of reference.

I found a solution, just put the long form of the institution name in the author field of zotero, and in the text, edit the in text citation -> select "ignore author" and just add a prefix with the acronym (e.g., "BEA," . Simple and efficient

Convert the creator field to a single name field (rather than last and first name) using the button next to the author / creator field.

Edit: Nevermind, this doesn't solve your issue.
