How to collaborate with groups

I started using Zotero about four months ago and just can't believe how powerful and flexible it is. I'm about to begin a collaborative term paper with three others and am lobbying to use Zotero to manage our citations. However, I've never used groups. Where can I get a quick primer or some advice, how to set up and use a collaborative library. My three partners had never heard of Zotero but are willing to give it a try. I'm eager to teach them about the tool. - Regards, John
  • Start here: http://www.zotero.org/support/groups
ask if you have any questions. For your type of project this should be very straightforward, I don't think you need any special advice.
  • Excellent Adam. Thank you. Two more questions for now. Now I've copied a collection into a Group Library, can I safely delete from, My Library? How too check my storage used against my allocation? - Thanks and regards, John
  • 1) Make sure attachments copied over, then yes
    2) Here: https://www.zotero.org/settings/storage
  • Thanks again. - best regards, John
  • Well our collaboration is at an end. The paper was completed on time, early really, and I was quite pleased with the results. Now I'd like to retire from the group to clear the clutter from the left side of my workspace. I was able to close the group I had created but can't figure out how to retire from the one I was invited into and joined. Cheers, mtcstle
  • https://www.zotero.org/groups/<groupname>; (you can get there by clicking on the group name from https://www.zotero.org/groups/ ) has a "Leave Group" button on the right.
  • Found it. Thanks you adamsmith. Cheers, mtcstle
