Upgrade StorageOption for display to side of browser window
Zotero is a very useful and well-designed program. Great job and thanks to all who created it and are working on it!
My suggestion relates to Zotero's display position in the Firefox window. When the Zotero window is open, it competes for screen space with the Firefox browser window and makes web surfing more difficult. I have noticed this, and a recent NYT reviewer of Zotero did also (http://judson.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/12/16/defeating-bedlam/).
I suggest that an option be added for Zotero to be displayed to the side of the browser window in addition to the current above or below options. I think a side-by-side arrangement of zotero and browser windows would make better use of screen area on wide format displays, which many users (including me) now have.
When surfing the web in Firefox, I typically maximize the window in the vertical dimension, but have unused space on the screen to the sides of the browser window. I'd like to be able to display Zotero in the unused space to the side rather than having to reduce the browser's viewing area in the vertical dimension.

markedited December 28, 2008This is a common request. See Zotero as a Tab, Zotero vertical, GUI requests, sidebar, and lots of other topics. One of the developers has commented in the latter topic: That was one year ago. I do hope that it will happen soon, but I'm afraid the Sync version has taken up a lot of time.
