Known problems with bookmarklet on Windows and Chrome?

Windows 7
Chrome 38.0.2125.111 m

I've seen this on almost every page I've tried in the past few weeks. Save to Zotero bookmarklet just gets hung up at "looking for translators" and never resolves. Here's one I tried again today

I've restarted, etc and even reinstalled the bm'let from

  • same issue reported here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/27979/how-to-use-bookmarklet-on-mobile-browser/#Item_24
  • Though I wonder, why are you using the bookmarklet in that set-up? Even if you're trying to save to the server, there's no reason not to do this via the Chrome connector.
  • How else would I do it? This machine can't have Zotero or Firefox installed. Plus it's was working before.
  • With the Chrome Connector. Much better results (provided you can install that)
  • Ah, I guess I missed that one. Seems to work well on journal pages, but doesn't capture regular web page unless Zotero is installed, right? I get this error

"This item could not be saved because Zotero Standalone is not open or unreachable. Please open Zotero Standalone and try again"
  • that's right. But that wouldn't have worked with the bookmarklet either, would it?
  • Chrome Connector is amazing! Thanks for telling me about it.
