Zotero icon no longer appears for easy entry
After getting a new CPU (reloaded software) I no longer get a Zotera icon when trying to save e.g. PubMed citations/abstract into my Zotera bibliography. How can this be fixed?

Zotero version: 4.0.11; Firefox version: 23.0.1; operating system Windows 7 Professional, 5.2 Windows Experience Index, 64 bit OS.
An example of when a Zotero icon does not work:

What can I try next?
I believe I have the same problem/question as Marg Friesen, that is, I downloaded zotero 4.0 for Windows 7 and have spent 14 hours trying to figure out why there is no icon for zotero (neither book or folder) in the search bar - (not in firefox or google chrome). I think I am close to having it work, but I need the option "create new item from current page" - not "create new item from web page" (that comes with all the web info in the citation). I get this option in both the drop down when right clicking in the search bar scrolling down to "zotero" and when hitting the third icon in the library bar - neither provide a simple citation option, eg., if wanting the citation info for Krugman, Paul The Great Unraveling.
Does anyone know what preliminary step am missing here? Thank you so much.
You want a URL bar icon to import items with their metadata.
If you don't get it, start here:
http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/no_address_bar_icon
then run through
http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
and if nothing helps, provide _all_ the information requested in the last step.
Once you've done that, I still don't understand what you're trying to do. Above you're asking about an icon in Firefox, correct? How does the Word plugin (which you do not need to install when you run Zotero Standalone, btw.) figure in there?
To get this working you will not have to do anything complicated - so anything that seems like it's complicated (such as downloading and opening .xpi files) you do not want to do. There are really just two steps - download and install Zotero Standalone, and download&install the extension for your browser - in your case Firefox.
You only want to use that page and you only want to use the right-hand side of that page. Click on "Zotero 4.0 for Windows" then download and install. Once you're done, click on the little Firefox icon right below it and install that.

click on "Zotero 4.0 for Firefox" you'll likely have to allow and OK a couple of times, but everything will happen basically by itself once you click on that. (Going to sleep now)
If Zotero Standalone is open, clicking the Zotero icon will bring Zotero Standalone to the front instead and Zotero for Firefox will function the same as the Chrome/Safari plugins. If Standalone is closed, the Zotero pane will open in Firefox.
I used to be able to double click the Online library and get the Zotero home page but can no longer do this. I needed to do a search for Zotero and open from that to get to the Forums(could also have gotten in through my Forum emails). If you have any ideas on what is going on here, i would appreciate knowing what they are.
I'll start another conversation with the "XUL Runner has stopped working" problem.
