Upgrade StorageZotero cannot locate any of my PDF attachments.

Recently, Zotero cannot find the PDF attachments to any of my references. I can see in my file system that the appropriately named files are there.
I experimented with symbolic links recently to allow the storage folder to be somewhere other than the Zotero data directory, so this might be my fault. However, the relative file structure of the Zotero data directory has never been changed, so Zotero should be able to find the files.
In any case, I am wordering if there is a way to make Zotero find the attachments again (e.g. by manually updating the table in which Zotero saves the paths to the stored files)...

Provide a debug ID after unsuccessfully trying to open a file:

whether this is fixable depends on what exactly is wrong, but I'd be relatively optimistic at this point.
I am actually having the same problem, I can't open any attachment, on Windows 7 though. I tried on different computers but it always failed. I know all the attachments are alright because I used to open them fine with Zotero until a few months ago.
E.g. if I click on a PDF attachment the grey adobe reader interface appears but no document comes up.
What shall I do?
