Chicago style and DOI/URL

Hi - Just trying to figure out why my Chicago style output for does not include the DOI at the end of a citation when there is info in the DOI field for a particular item. I've seen long threads from people who do NOT want it included. So am I missing a setting that keeps it from being added? Thanks.
  • which Chicago style? And no, there is no such setting.
  • Thanks for responding. Well, I've tried all the Chicago styles (I think), so I wonder why a citation that has the doi field with information in it does not have the doi appear in the bib. Any suggestions welcomed!
  • huh - that got removed from all the Chicago styles during a recent-ish clean-up. I believe that must have been an accident, I'll look into it.
  • DOI is back for all Chicago Manual styles (except the dated note style, which I don't really know what it is).
  • except the dated note style, which I don't really know what it is
    @adamsmith, see http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/8345/new-cms-fork-dated-note-with-biblio-no-ibid/

    We could contact turkeyphant to ask if anyone requires this style. If not, it's probably safe to delete it.
  • I remember - I thought I did send him a message, but not sure. There is some dated Chicago variant that's sometimes used, I believe, but it's not in the Chicago manual, so it should probably have a different name and, more importantly, a link to a style guide.
    I'm always reluctant to delete styles that are relatively unique - there is no style that's even broadly similar to the CMoS date note.
  • My main concern is that users already have a lot of options when it comes to picking a CMoS variant, which might be intimidating/confusing. Renaming the style would definitely help with that.
  • something like "Dated Notes - Humanities"?
    If someone knows of a style guide along similar lines, I'm happy to just code that style and take this down entirely - I'm not super happy to have a style w/o a guide up.
