Cannot get OpenOffice extension to work

When I try to install the OOo extension via the extension manager, I get an error:

(com.sun.start.uno.RuntimeException)
{{message=python-loader:exception.import Error No module named OS, tracebackfollows\X000aCouldn't import traceback module "context( com.sun.star.uno.xinterface)@0}}

Double clicking on the Zotero.oxt file installs the extension, but the ZOteroRPC.py is disabled.

The zotero toolbar appears in Writer, but if I click on any of the icons I get a message about Firefox not running, which it is

Using WINXPpro, OOo 2.3, Firefox 2.0.0.9, and Zotero 1.0.1.

Anyone any ideas on how I can fix this.

thanks, I did search through the forum before posting, but I didn't find this.

I will try reinstalling OOo as suggested.

Unfortunately, re-installing OOo and making sure the Python UNO-bridge is enabled hasn't made any difference. :-(

Ok, I have now tried this and it doesn't help.

A link from this message leads to the OOo forum where as far as I can see is suggesting that this errror message is linked with the way the package is zipped up. But I know it is working for others, so I am stuck now.
