APA Style 7th edition (annotated bibliography) omitting annotations from bibliography

Hello! I cannot figure out how to generate a bibliography with annotations using this style. My annotations do show up in the item view, just not in my bibliography.

I am aware of the discussion at https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/124512/generating-an-apa-7-annotated-bibliography-using-zotero-in-ms-word/p1. I was already using the recommended style, but after reading that I tried deleting and reinstalling it and still cannot get an annotated bibliography.

Here's what else I have tried:

-Putting my annotations in both the Extra and Abstract fields (and in Notes, just in case)
-Generating a bibliography directly from the items, both copied to the clipboard/pasted into a document and saved as an RTF
-Inserting in-text citations in a document and then auto-generating the bibliography from those citations, in both Microsoft Word and Google Docs
-Closing and re-opening both Zotero and Microsoft Word
-Using Zotero on a different computer

No matter what I do, I still get a plain bibliography without any annotations. In the old version of this style (using the Extra field) I had no problem. I'm supposed to teach a class how to do this next week. Please help!
  • I have just checked that these are working as expected. I would verify that you're using the most recent version of Zotero (currently 8.0.4) and that you're using the correct variant of the style in your word processor. APA (with abstract) will display the contents of the Abstract field alongside the bibliography entry:

    https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:apa-with-abstract

The APA (annotated bibliography) variant will display text in the Extra field that has not been parsed as a variable:

    https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:apa-annotated-bibliography

You could also use Tools > Developer > Style Editor to see how Zotero is displaying bibliography entries itself without going via the word processor.
