Possible disambiguation issue in Zotero 8 (same first author and year not expanded consistently)
Hello,
I am using Zotero 8 (latest version) with an author–date citation style (APA 7).
I have two different articles published in 2016 that share the same first author:
Article 1 (3 authors): LastName1, FirstName1; LastName2, FirstName2; LastName3, FirstName3
Article 2 (2 authors): LastName1, FirstName1; LastName4, FirstName4
In both Zotero records, the first author is entered identically.
Zotero generates the following in-text citations:
Article 1: (LastName1 et al., 2016)
Article 2: (LastName1 & LastName4, 2016)
The first citation appears ambiguous, since both works share the same first author and publication year.
Should Zotero expand the author list in the first citation to ensure proper disambiguation under APA 7 rules?
Thank you.
