Turabian 8

Turabian 8 notes and bib with Ibid. has disappeared.
Please help me to get this back into my program. My university requires Ibid.
I am in the middle of a major paper and it just changed. Thank you!

As you will see from the Turabian citation quick guide, the publisher officially considers it to be a simplified student presentation of Chicago referencing systems. Although there are a few extremely minor differences in the Turabian manual itself, it seems that the editors did not intend these to create official divergences in the style.

Using Ibid. is still allowable in Chicago style, and there are Zotero styles for Chicago 18th edition with Ibid., or you can use Chicago 16th edition. The Turabian Manual itself, however, discourages its use (sec. 16.4.2): "Unless your local guidelines require the use of ibid., you may instead use one of the shortened forms discussed in 16.4.1 to refer to an immediately preceding note."

Thank you for bearing with this – since Turabian is aimed exclusively at students, the best way to meet their needs is usually to provide them only with the options that remain officially supported. I have proposed to redirect the 8th edition to the 16th edition of Chicago rather than current Turabian, to ensure that other users do not encounter your situation.
