Volume titles missing from some CMOS 17 bibliography entries

Thank you for including the handling of volume-title in the latest updates to CMOS 17.

But while it works fine most of the time, volume titles seem to be missing from bibliography listings for book sections.

Book note:

1 Edward R. Foreman, ed., Centennial History of Rochester, New York, vol. 2, Home Builders (Rochester, New York: Rochester Historical Society, 1932), 134.

Book bibliography:

Foreman, Edward R., ed. Centennial History of Rochester, New York. Vol. 2, Home Builders. Rochester, New York: Rochester Historical Society, 1932.

Book section note:

2 Walter H. Cassebeer, “Architecture in Rochester,” in Centennial History of Rochester, New York, ed. Edward R. Foreman, vol. 2, Home Builders (Rochester, New York: Rochester Historical Society, 1932), 236.

Book section bibliography:

Cassebeer, Walter H. “Architecture in Rochester.” In Centennial History of Rochester, New York, edited by Edward R. Foreman, Vol. 2. Rochester, New York: Rochester Historical Society, 1932.

According to Chicago 18 (14.22), the book section bibliography should read instead:

Cassebeer, Walter H. “Architecture in Rochester.” In Home Builders, vol. 2 of Centennial History of Rochester, New York, edited by Edward R. Foreman. Rochester, New York: Rochester Historical Society, 1932.

I don't have a copy of Chicago 17, so I don't know if this changed between editions. Also, I'm a new Zotero user and may be missing something here.
  • If you're referring to the styles currently on the Zotero repository, the handling of multivolume works is incorrect in a number of respects; new versions will be out soon that correct this, hopefully by next week if I can find time to make a few more adjustments. The guidance hasn't changed in any substantive way between the 17th and 18th editions.
  • That's good news. Thanks for all your work.
