Upgrade StorageZotero could not find a record for the specifiedidentifier.

Zotero is not recognizing any DOI that I submit to the "Add item by identifier" button. I have tried both new DOIs and previous DOIs that Zotero has recognized.
Zotero takes about 5 seconds after I enter the DOI on the empty line after clicking the "Add item by identifier" button before giving me this error message "Zotero could not find a record for the specified identifier. Please verify the identifier and try again."
I have previously used Zotero on this same computer for other projects, and I have had no issue. I tried turning my computer off/on, and the issue remained. I have also tried closing Zotero and opening it prior to opening my Word doc.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Click "add item by identifier"
2. Paste DOI into empty line
3. returns error message reading "Zotero could not find a record for the specified identifier. Please verify the identifier and try again."
