Word Mac - not consistent Zotero tab

The issue is that Zotero tab stopped appearing in Word. I've gone through the Word Mac troubleshooting and have had some success in getting the Zotero tab back but then it started not showing up again. I also noticed that it was showing up in other places. My work-around for now has been to create a word doc in my downloads folder, which seems to consistently have the Zotero tab, and then copy over to my working doc. I'd like to note that I do also use OneDrive. I've seen other posts that mention OneDrive as a suspect and since I am having less problems with my download folder, I think that's one piece of evidence it's true...

I'm not sure what you mean by "it was showing up in other places". The plugin creates a "Zotero" tab in the ribbon — that's it.

With "it was showing up in other places" I meant that if I opened a word doc saved in my downloads folder, the Zotero ribbon would appear. If the word doc is saved on my project folder and I open it, the ribbon did not appear.

Does your project folder or project use a customized Normal.dotm, or use a custom Word template? That most likely interferes with the Zotero tab from appearing.
