Zotero won’t import from Google scholar

I’m trying to import articles from Google scholar into my zotero where I can then add them as citations as well as my bibliography. I’ve tried everything to get it working - restarting laptop, reinstalling the plugin etc
  • (While this is a clearer title, in the future please avoid don't creating duplicate threads for the same issue.)

As I said in your other thread, you have to say what the actual problem is that you're experiencing and how to reproduce it. If you're just getting an error trying to save from Google Scholar, that's almost certainly just due to site access limits.
  • I’m explaining the problem? My Zotero was working before, now it isn’t. I cannot import from Google scholar to Zotero where I can then access the article to incorporate it into my citations.
  • I linked to the exact kind of description we need. Remember that we can't see your screen — just saying that something isn't working isn't sufficient. (And in your other thread you were talking about Word, which is totally unrelated to saving from your browser and confusing to anyone trying to help you.)

In any case, if you're clicking the "Save to Zotero" button while on Google Scholar and getting an error about saving, the problem is, again, likely just Google's site access limits. You should click through to the publisher pages and save from there.
  • But I’ve never experienced this issue before. It’s doing it with all articles that I try to incorporate and I know it’s nothing to do with Google because I’ve always done it this way

You can provide a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector for reloading the page and trying to save, and we'll take a look, but it's almost certainly rate-limiting by Google. Google Scholar has done this for many years, which is why we have a documentation page about this issue that specifically mentions Google Scholar.

It depends entirely on how much you've saved, where you're located, what else you've browsed to recently, etc. — it's entirely determined by Google.

You can wait a while and try again or, again, you can just click through to the publisher page and save from there (which will also generally give you better metadata).
