In Text Referencing
Hi all
I have just recently moved from EndNote to Zotero and find it amazing. I am also using APA 7th. While Zotero is great, I am struggling with a couple of things. When I am starting a sentence using an author followed by the year, Zotero puts it as (Bachus, 2020) states that ...... Instead it should be Bachus (2020) states that ...... In EndNote, you can right-click to change the reference format, but I cannot work out how to do this in Zotero. Also, Zotero wants to put the reference on the right side of the full stop instead of inside the sentence. If I insert it on the left side, Grammarly picks it up as an error.
Any help would be fantastic!

With author-date style citations, I have not seen full-stops inside the parentheses. For example, https://writing.wisc.edu/handbook/documentation/docchicago/author-date/
So, ignore Grammarly. But for some reason, you wanted to do it that way, use the Suffix option (see Prefix and Suffix) in the citation bubble with a .:

All is good now thanks.
