multiple collection opens at once?

Is there a way I could have multiple tabs or windows with the 'collections' view open at once?

I use collections extensively and it would be nice to be able to tab-switch between various views - especially I've also used the filter or advanced filter.

For example I might want to see "Already Read > Resilience" along with "To Read > Industry > Scuba" and "To Read > Industry > Aviation" and get a sense of the various papers in each collection.

Alternately,

is there something like macOS 'Smart Folder' which lets you save a search and view it like a directory?

(ideally both, but either might work for me for now)

This isn't currently possible, but likely in a future version.

Click Save Search in the Advanced Search window, or right-click the library -> New Saved Search...
  • I want to second (or third) the request to have multiple tabs open with different collections.
There is a way to have different windows open, at least in Mac. Hide the current window (click on yellow circle upper-left hand corner). Then click command-0 (zero). This will open up a second window.
This is useful, but having tabs would be much better.
