Neither Zotero 6 and 7 are compatible with LyZ

Hello everyone,

I am using LyZ to insert references in Zotero to the Lyx document. Unfortunately, I recently update Zotero and found the new version, neither Zotero 6 or 7 support LyZ.

So I would like to install the older version rather than the new versions. But the old versions are gone on the Zotero website.

Anyone could solve this problem? Thanks in advance!

You can still get Zotero 6. Here click on "other versions":

Yes, I tried Zotero 6, but it is not compatible with LyZ either.

Zotero 6 used to be compatible -- I used the last version before Zotero 7 came out and it worked fine with LyZ. However, I would also be very grateful if anyone had the skill, time, and interest in updating LyZ (not being a programmer myself, I could only help with testing and feedback). There is already a Zotero7-issue on LyZ's github-page:

What operation system do you install on your computer use? Mac or Windows. I'm also using the latest Zotero 6.0.37

with Mac OS Monterey 12.5.1. But LyZ doesn't work, as you can see from above screenshot.

I'm on Debian Linux. However, I made the switch to Zotero 7 almost immediately after it was declared stable and I cannot say for sure whether I was on Zotero 6.0.37 or a slightly earler version of Zotero 6 when LyZ still used to work (before I made the move to Zotero 7).

It seems that one can find older versions on a third-party website

https://zotero.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions

But please note that I do not really know the site and can't give you any assurance that it is safe; so you would have to check that out for yourself.

Woow...thanks a lot! This really helps! Now I just reinstalled previous old version and LyZ. I found combining LyZ with Lyx save you a lot of time and efforts in adding the references and can definitely speed up paper writing. For me, it is exponentially speedup:-).

Please don't download Zotero from sketchy third-party sites! There's absolutely no need to do that. Old versions are still available directly from zotero.org by modifying the download URL.

macOS: https://www.zotero.org/download/client/dl?channel=release&platform=mac&version=6.0.36
Windows: https://www.zotero.org/download/client/dl?channel=release&platform=win32&version=6.0.36

Replace "6.0.36" with whatever version you need.
