Zotero 7. Not Open

Hi, Zotero 7.0.0-beta.101+220bb4383 (64-bit) doesn´t open, but it's possible to open it with line command. This is the ID problem: 599103567.

I'm working in Fedora 40 (Linux)

Regards.

Can't open it how? From the launcher?

We provide a tarball with an executable and .desktop file. The executable you would launch from the command line. For the .desktop file, see the installation instructions.

If you're having trouble, you may want to use the zotero-deb package instead.
  • I have ready installed zotero beta from installation instructions (tarball). But after the last update the Launcher failed to open. I tried to rerun the commands to fix it, however can´t open from the launcher, only open from line command.

These are register logs when I try to open from launcher

    11:10:33 systemd: app-zotero@43d2faadc40346e8b1128af6e523136d.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.

  • You're saying this worked for you previously?

I just tested the current beta in a Fedora 40 VM and was able to launch it via the launcher.
  • Yes, It worked until the last update. I had the same problem with a notebook (fedora 40) that I updated.

I don't know what else to do. Meanwhile, it has worked fine by command line (terminal).
  • Finally, I fixed the problem changing the arguments of app launcher

    From: "-c '\$(dirname \$(realpath \$(echo %k | sed -e '\''s/^file:\/\///'\'')))/zotero -url %U'"
    To "/opt/zotero/zotero"

    Now it's works.

  • We've reverted to an older version of the file that will probably fix this for you.

  • Hi,
Yes!, it's working again in the last version: 7.0.0-beta.117+794dc6bf0 (64-bit)

    Thanks
