date not displaying (CMOS note+bibliography)

Hi,

I'm citing a pretty standard book (single author, title, place of publication, publisher, date). When I copy the note out of Zotero or drag and drop it into Word, it displays as follows:
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Sämtliche Schriften und Briefe (Darmstadt: Preussische Akademie der Wissenschaften, 1923).

If I insert the note from the Zotero plugin, it displays as follows:

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Sämtliche Schriften und Briefe (Darmstadt: Preussische Akademie der Wissenschaften, n.d.), vol.…

Is this a glitch or am I overlooking something?

Thanks!
  • I would be very surprised if this isn't a duplicate item with missing date. Have you clicked on Add/Edit citation in Word and then on "Show in My Library" to check the item used?
  • That was the first thing I checked for—no duplicates in this case, unfortunately.
  • Here's something odd, though. There are two citations in that reference, and the Leibniz isn't linked to an item in the library even though I inserted the citations through the plugin. I tried deleting it and reentering it, and the same thing happened.
  • Show field codes (https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/word_field_codes ) and then copy the field code for that note and paste it here. Leave out the beginning { when selecting the field, otherwise it won't copy.

oh my, I missed a duplicate in a separate collection - apologies!
edit: although I still can't actually *find* the duplicate. I went through all my collections and only see the one entry. No sign of it in Duplicate Items or in Unfiled Items either. Any idea of what's going on here?
