Upgrade StorageQuestion about library size for syncing to empty library
Hello, I move between two computers with my Zotero, so I had been storing my primary library on an external drive. However, I recently could not load my library, and I got t this message: "Errors were found in your Zotero database. You can use the database repair tool at http://zotero.org/utils/dbfix to attempt to correct these errors."

maddThanks. I am getting ready to sync to an empty library. I am nervous about this, as I would not want the empty library to overwrite my online library (which represents many years of work). Can you please confirm that if I sync to am empty library, that it will just move the online library to my local computer and that it will not erase my online Zotero library? Thank you.

dstillmanedited June 27, 2024No, setting up Zotero on a new computer won't wipe out your existing library. It's just like any other sync system (Dropbox, etc.) — you can obviously start using it on a new computer.
