[Zotero 7 Beta] Broken PDF Reader annotations when doing "Select Area"

If I do "Select Area" annotations on a PDF file in the Zotero Reader just after starting Zotero, after a few rectangles the Toolbar is all greyed and I cannot select it anymore. The annotations become locked and cannot be deleted:

Closing the tab and reopening it fixes the problem
The problem looks similar to this previous bug report.

I observe an error similar to that reported here:

Yeah, I think we finally figured out what's going on here — probably a few cases where this error can occur if 1) Zotero is busy (starting up, syncing, etc.) and 2) you create an annotation and then make additional changes in quick succession (e.g., start an ink annotation and then add some additional lines). We should have a fix soon.
