Citing Issue in Google Docs

I'm having trouble citing in Google Docs.

I have clicked the Zotero plug-in on my Google Doc, click "Add/edit citation," type in the source I want to cite in the search bar that comes up, but then when it returns me to my Doc, only a box pops up that says "Text" and "Search or paste a link".

I just used Zotero a few days ago in Google Docs and it was working fine. I also have disabled any extensions in Chrome.

I would really appreciate all the help, advice, and support.
