Zotero 7 beta: Can't search in quick format dialog
Debug ID: D926177421
Zotero version: 7.0.0-beta.55+9151fb355
I this test, I first tried "Add/Edit Citation" in Word, and I couldn't press into the search field in order to type. It was unresponsive. I can move the dialog around and switch to classic mode, but I didn't test that in this log.
Secondly, I tried the picker that Better Bibtex provides through the API that the Zotero Integration plugin for Obsidian uses to connect to Zotero. This picker is the same one as the quick format one in Word. It functions the same way, I can't type.
In other tests, I found that if I select an item in Zotero, I could then type in the quick format dialog, but no search results show except for the selected item.

We're looking into this, but it wouldn't have anything to do with the bug in the classic citation dialog.
If you can reproduce this another way, let us know.
Anyway, it seems you found the issue, because I did indeed have a standalone PDF open in the reader.
I tested again, and got slightly different results than before. With troubleshooting mode enabled, I can type, but I still get no results, except for a very brief view of the open documents seen when I delete back to a single character in the dialog.
When I closed the standalone PDF, the dialog behaved as expected.

See my demo here, which was recorded while I made the debug log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rvoXu7XvtX4Orj8_ssX4Q8F82bn10jRd/view?usp=sharing
This should be fixed now in the latest beta (56).
