Solution to Plugin Installation Error Message. [Solved]
I downloaded some Zotero plugins from the pages linked in the documentation.
For two of the plugins, I got the error message:
"The add-on "" could not be installed. It may be incompatible with this version of Zotero."
The solutions that worked were:
1) re-download the same .xpi file
2) check for Zotero 6 compatibility
The solutions that did not work were:
1) deleting extensions.json and the "extensions" folder [1]
2) reinstalling Zotero
Solutions that worked for other users:
1) Manually updating Zotero to the latest version by downloading from the website.
2) Checking that they downloaded the .xpi, not the .zip or any other file.
3) Creating a new profile to replace a buggy one.
4) Changed the browser so it didn't try to install the .xpi itself.
