feature or bug? select some words, drag and release in PPT, strange characters

hello, I came across a problem,
If a particular article has only two authors, when I select some words, drag and release in Microsoft PPT (power point slide) or Word, there will be some strange characters, just like the following, [feature or bug? rename attachments in zotero 7 beta 21 - Zotero Forums]( https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/106364/feature-or-bug-rename-attachments-in-zotero-7-beta-21 ) .

this problem troubled me for a long time. isn't a feature or bug?

You're talking about copying text from a PDF in Zotero and pasting it into PowerPoint or Word? Can you paste an example here?

only two authors for this paper, https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-022-28122-0

I opened the PDF file using the built-in PDF reader in Zotero, highlighted a passage, copied the highlight, and pasted it into Microsoft Word. Here is the result,

please note that there are some strange characters whith box, FSI, PDI.

What versions of Zotero and Word are you using? Can you provide a Debug ID for triggering this?

There's something weird (and I think outdated) about the format you're getting — the "pdf" link shouldn't be before the citation, so you might want to reset your translators from the Advanced → Files and Folders section of the Zotero preferences — but I can reproduce this copying to Word. It doesn't seem to happen if you add the annotations to a note and use the Word plugin's Add Note feature.

I explained what these characters are in the other thread. I'm not sure why Word isn't handling them via paste, but we'll see what we can do here.
