Proxy: redirect future requests through %h/%p?

Recently I've begun to see messages like the following: "Zotero detected that you are accessing www.sciencedirect.com through a proxy. Would you like to automatically redirect future requests to www.sciencedirect.com through %h/%p?". (I don't remember whether it's always for www.sciencedirect.com.) Why does it say %h/%p rather than a specific proxy address?

I currently have just a single proxy configured: http: //proxy.library.mcgill.ca/login?qurl=%u with the Proxied URL Scheme being %h.proxy3.library.mcgill.ca/%p. There is a long list of Hostnames, including www.sciencedirect.com.

In 2017 there was a short thread (https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/69553/proxy-question-https-h-p) which suggested that %h/%p 'serves no purpose and could potentially cause issues'.
  • Could you produce a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector for a navigation that produces this message?
  • The message has been sporadic and I haven't managed to reproduce it. I gather that it's not a good idea to keep Debug Output Logging enabled for long periods, so if and when I see the message again I'll turn on logging and try to replicate it.
  • I just received the %h/%p message when accessing https://www.oed.com/

However, I realize now that I'm actually using http://proxy.library.mcgill.ca/login?url=http://www.oed.com as the link, which I'd hardwired into a personal Web page. That may explain this message that I saw under Proxy Settings immediately after seeing the %h/%p message:
'Zotero detected a proxy redirect loop and has temporarily suspended automatic proxy redirection.'

An hour or so earlier I used the same link to access the OED and did not get the %h/%p message.

In any case, I clicked on Submit Output and the Debug ID was D1290382798.
