Zotero experimentó un error al actualizar su documento.

I was using Word until yesterday and everything worked perfectly with zotero. Today I opened the same doc and I can't add any citations. It says 'Zotero experienced an error while updating its document.'
If I open a new document, Zotero works normally. But I need to recover the old document with the Zotero citations, it is my doctoral thesis, pls help!

Update: I copy the entire doc in a new doc, and Zotero started working again. But I close the file, and when I wanted to continue working on it later, the same error appeared.

    It sounds like you might be saving the file in the wrong format. Are you saving as a .docx?

    In general, for an existing document, see Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents, but if you saved the file in the wrong format the citations may be broken.

    Thanks for your answer. The format of the file didn't change. I decided to restart the pc and then it worked. I do not know what happened, but it is solved for now.
