If you want to have all your PDFs in one folder, you will need to use Zotfile to rename and move them. (Which it can do automatically at import time.)

You could also look into the Zotfile plugin for managing PDFs stored in the local Box folder.

I'm using standalone Zotero and Zotfile, both updated today (10/7/17). I have 99% success using the Chrome plug-in to import .pdfs into Zotero, which triggers RetrievingMetaData --> RenamingviaZotfile

The automated watchfolder was removed from ZotFile 5, see the release note. Manage Attachments --> Attach New File should still be working, though.

I have installed the zotero upgrades, but zotfile functions are no longer working. When I download an article to the watch file it is not prompting to add as an attachment, rename and move the file.

Look at the Zotfile plugin. It can automatically move all of your pdfs to one folder, while also keeping links to the PDFs associated with the Zotero items.

OK. I guess I did not explain things well. Zotero cannot find pdf attachments from the `show file`menu. The pdfs are present on my cloud drive and WebDav is set up correctly to access that cloud drive

Zotfile (www.zotfile.com) does this more aggressively than Zotero, which only auto re-names PDFs when they're imported along with the metadata.

You've installed ZotFile in Zotero, not in Firefox, yes? And which option are you not getting/where are you looking?

I did download several times the add-on Zotfile 5.0.4 to work with my Zotero 5.0.22. I don't know why it doesn't work (I can't see the features Zotfile add in my Zotero library).
