I agree; the plugin for dark mode is really good.

when set dark mode, if switch another app for a while and then switch back to zotero app, it turn to light mode.

Works fine for me. Zotero 6.0.19, Night 0.4.20. Windows 11. Do you get the 'sun' icon in the top right next to Zotero's green sync icon ? If so, does that switch to dark mode when you click on it ? IM

On desktop, between the view settings (font, note font), note.fontFamily, and scalable sidebar I'm actually good to make do (though a native dark mode would be wonderful).
