There are two plugins available that provide linked file support similar to Zotfile for Zotero 7

I know that many people (including me) were concerned whether and how Zotero 7 would duplicate Zotfile's functionality. I've explored the renaming markup a bit and it looks great!

I have successfully upgraded to Z7 and switched from zotfile to zotmoov by following the Installation guide and FAQ item over at the zotmoov site (links below) and consulting the post above from @tim8

Did you have everything working correctly under Zotero 6 (with Zotfile) for the exact PDF file(s) that is not being found now ?

Zotmoov *does* make the attachment title and file name the same for both automatic and manual rename/move operations (as Zotfile used to under Zotero v6).

The only reason why I implemented the workflow using zotfile and xodo on my tablet is that there is a missing android app. I'd use that in an instant if it was available.

It's Tools → Plugins in Zotero 7, but ZotFile doesn't work in Zotero 7.

I've downloaded Zotero version 7 and installed the Zotfile plugin (zotfile-5.1.2-fx). However, when I tried to add it, I couldn't find the "Add-ons" button in the Tools tab of Zotero.

So, I used to use Zotfile with Zotero 6. Now, with Zotero 7, I am planning to use just the Zotero database.

The video is basically correct though, in that it only shows setting the LABD under Advanced Preferences (to Google Drive in the example shown). The Zotero database is not moved. It does use Zotfile (

Rather than using Zotfile, you may be better off dragging files from their sub-folders into Zotero as linked files.
