Is there a way to manually add the DOI field in the .csl file? I can make individual manual changes but the connector will consistently grab the DOI as a URL.

That only applies to online journal articles. For articles that are part of a book, Zotero does not currently support a DOI field and thus when I "grab" an article using the Connector, the doi is saved as a URL instead.
