Thank you! I successfully recovered my data with your instructions. I am not certain how I lost the data, but I believe it occurred because I started Firefox in Safe Mode and (mistakenly) checked a box to permanently reset some browser settings…

Dan: I just tried deleting the extension files. No luck, I still have the same symptoms: no Zotero button in the corner of Firefox, and pushing the 'Options' button for Zotero under Tools --> Add-ons --> Extensions causes Firefox to crash.
