Use the tag function located at the bottom left section and the item pane. Name it as "read". You can also right click on the tag name at bottom left section, assign a color and hotkey to it. My tags include: marked, read, outstanding, and trash ;-)

However it would be a great idea to let users decide which annotation color is for default. in this case i dont have to change them every time, which is JUST SO ANNOYING

Guys if you are using macOS, here's a workaround regarding the spread mode. Goto system preferences->keyboard->shortkey/hotkey blah blah->app shortkey->click +->select Zotero->type "View->Odd Spreads"->bind a shortkey. And e…
