I assume you are using the zotero-pdf-translate plugin. If this is the case, you should ask the developer directly through GitHub: https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-pdf-translate/issues

Forum categories have been dropped a few years ago if I remember correctly. Apparently they were more trouble than they were worth? Voting: not interested. Images could be useful, I agree with that one.

People are trying to help you, but first they need to analyze the problem. This is why they are asking these precise and sometimes technical questions. There seems to be some difficulty with the "new document" question. What is asked is the followin…

> Could Zotero become as well an ontology manager (which other open source solutions provide) I realize that the message is a bit old, but could someone give specific examples? I'm curious.

I'd say that you don't really need to differentiate, since the pre-merge records were references to the same document. After the merge, you only have one single record, and it belongs to all collections that contained one of the pre-merge records. S…

This identifier is not a DOI, all DOI prefix must start with 10. (see https://support.datacite.org/docs/doi-basics). It appears that doi.org can also resolve non-DOI handles? Interesting, I didn't know that. But clearly the Crossref API cannot retri…

Are you trying to import while visiting the PDF URL and just getting the document but no metadata (not sure what you mean by "index" here)? If so, I think this is normal for Arxiv and not the best way to import papers into Zotero. For me, importing …

It is rarely necessary to enter records manually, usually automatic data entry mechanisms will take care of most fields. https://www.zotero.org/support/adding_items_to_zotero

Well, if you have a safe machine to rely on in the case of a problem, you are 100% free to try whatever you want on the more experimental system :-D
-
Do you think it is a good idea to use beta software on a beta OS for your **daily** work? This doesn't sound very safe (although it might work perfectly, of course).
-
No, you are not missing anything. The new item type has not yet been added to Zotero... it is expected to happen at some point in the future but the Zotero team generally avoids promises about the timing of new features.

Congrats for finding the column trick on your own! Looks like you're getting into the Zotero spirit ;-)

You probably don't need to move your references to another directory: if that was what you meant, collections in Zenodo are not directories (they are more like tags, i.e. a reference can belong to as many collections as you want). You can create a c…

There is no **official** app. But there are several third-party ones that you can try, maybe one of these will do the trick for you? https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/cluster?clp=ggEICgZ6b3Rlcm8=:S:ANO1ljKJQIc&gsr=CguCAQgKBnpvdGVybw=…

Please follow carefully the following instructions for citation style requests: https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/master/REQUESTING.md#requesting-csl-styles These instructions make it much easier for volunteers to build the sty…

You could use a tag of your choice to identify the articles that you consider most important. It won't be used for sorting, but it makes it easy to see only the references that you have tagged using this label. Could this work for you? https://www.z…

The Zotero OCR developer needs to update the plugin to make it compatible with Zotero 6. A fix has been submitted in February but it hasn't been integrated yet: https://github.com/UB-Mannheim/zotero-ocr/pulls

It happpens to the best of us :-)

Safari is supported again in Zotero version 6, officially released last week https://www.zotero.org/blog/zotero-6/

OK, I see your point. I had assumed that each contributor would be working mostly on 1, maybe 2 sections - if it isn't the case that becomes indeed a significant burden.

> it is absolutely not possible to work with 14 mini-documents as I am not the only one working on the doc. Could you explain your reasoning here? Why does having several contributors make several documents unpractical? I for one would think th…

If your articles are indexed in Pubmed (or Scopus, or the Web of Science, if you have access to those), you can search for "title1" OR "title2" OR "title3"... on these platforms and retrieve the results into Zotero. This could gain a little bit of t…

First of all, report the exact error message you are seeing.

Apparently it's not coming soon https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/86103/apple-silicon-compatibility But one reason for this apparent lack of haste is that performance is considered completely acceptable using Rosetta. Where and why do you need Z…

Could you give an example?

> It's not perfect with the Zotero Plug-in because data don't go to the good place (meda-data). Huh? Can you be more specific?

What do you see as "not perfect"?

Zotero uses 2 sources for ISBNs, the US Library of Congress (not vers useful for non-English books) and Worldcat: https://www.zotero.org/support/adding_items_to_zotero#add_item_by_identifier Worldcat is a great international source, but it depends…
