No error from the Zotero plugin and no reliable way to reproduce it, but the problem may be solved. Literally a minute after posting here LibreOffice updated from 6.3.2.2 to 6.3.3.2 and the error has not reoccurred since.

Tried that but it doesn't work. I'd guess that Zutilo overwrote/writes those settings. Uninstalling Zutilo made no change by the way. Any way I can change that manually in the about:config?
