I'm not an expert on French names, but I'd classify both "abbé" and "d'" as dropping particles. Examples of suffix name-parts are "III" in "William H. Gates III" and "Jr." in "Frank G. Bennett, Jr.".
-
So what should hypnotoad do? Try loading the automatic backups of the Zotero library made during Zotero upgrades until he/she finds one where the notes are in the original state?
-
So, with Zotero 2.1.7 (which I assume has the newest version of the translator), would re-exporting and importing solve the problem?
-
Just make sure you have a proper backup before trying to fix this: http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#backing_up_your_zotero_library

The main question is when the "suffix" name-part should be enclosed by the "given" and "family" name-part affixes. I think it should be enclosed by the affixes on the "family" name-part affixes when the "suffix" name-part follows the "family" name-p…

To add support for name-part affixes to CSL, I need to know how affixes behave for names with a suffix name-part. Based on the display name orders at http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#name-part-order, does everybody agree that t…

I you have a backup available, you can restore your library from that. See http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#restoring_your_zotero_library_from_a_backup Otherwise, you have to activate syncing with your original account, which will give you…

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure how to implement a floating TOC. You could try to open links in a new tab though, so you don't get lost in your original tab.
-
We already have that in the spec, no? http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#name-part-order (search for "sorting order")
-
If the items in your Zotero library are properly capitalized, but you see incorrect capitalization in generated bibliographies, this would be a citation style issue, and we would need to know which style you're using. If the items in your library a…

I've recently rewritten most of the specification in an effort to improve clarity. The new (proposed) text for name sorting using macros is: "As for names sorted via the "variable" attribute, names sorted via "macro" are returned with the cs:name at…
-
One thing to keep in mind is localizations. Using term names that reflect their usage (e.g. "article" for "article") will improve the chance people will translate them correctly.
-
The US constitution has both articles and sections: http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html
-
http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#sorting-macros: "For name sorting, the name-as-sort-order attribute on cs:name elements is set to "all"."
-
According to the CSL specification, name sorting should always happen with name-as-sort-order set to "all". This is discussed at http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#sorting-variables .
-
Same for Dutch :).
-
Thanks for removing the labels.
-
@adamsmith: fixed in the wiki. @Dan Stillman: wouldn't it be better to just drop the addition of " (dev)" to style names? I think it only causes confusion.
-
You're right. That's not supported then.
-
b) this will be possible in the next version of CSL: https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/issues/12
-
That's a question for Dan :)
-
The IEEE style doesn't have a default-locale, so it might be that the previews just aren't rendered with the en-US locale (which is the only locale that renders the comma/period inside the closing quote).
-
For adamsmith's request about the CSL locale file, see also the translation instructions at https://github.com/citation-style-language/locales/wiki (assuming you're interested in doing this)
-
Then you've come across a bug :)
-
Works for me in chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul.
-
Your gist is missing a ">" at the closing cs:style tag. Other than that the style validates. Are you sure that your unmodified style gives the expected formatting? I'm not sure where you got the IEEE style from, but it might be a different versi…

YouTube.js is a web translator. It adds an icon to the Firefox address bar when you watch a video on YouTube, and (when you click that icon) allows you to save the information about that video to your library. It creates "Video Recording" items. Tra…

Check whether Zotero is looking in the right directory for your data. See http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#locating_your_zotero_library
-
The Locate menu is located at to right of the search box, above the right column of the Zotero pane (on Windows the alignment is off, which made me overlook it as well at first).

Being nitpicky, "expanded" is the attribute value, and "page-range-format" is the attribute.
